DLR Tour - 2nd Leg
September 10, 1999 - We've just received official
confirmation from
davidleeroth.com
that David Lee Roth is definitely going back on the road for a brief
tour this month!
Most of the rumoured tour dates we've had listed for the past few
weeks have been confirmed, the exceptions being the October 7, 8 and
9 dates. The full list of dates can be found in the table below.
After the mini-tour, Dave will go back into the studio to record
the followup to DLR Band. No mention was made of the rumoured
collaboration with John Lowery, but Dave's site is hinting that
fans who go to the final 9 shows of 1999 may hear new material
from the forthcoming album.
If you get a chance to see the shows, feel free to
add your review to the
largest and most popular archive of DLR Band tour reviews on the
internet, right here on the Van Halen News Desk.

Inside - Issue 14
September 22, 1999 - Issue 14 of the official
Van Halen magazine, The Inside, is available now. The current issue
is entirely focused on the band's first world tour in 1978.
In it you will find tons of never-before-seen photographs of a very
young Van Halen, taken during the tour that established them as a force to
be reckoned with in the pre-MTV rock scene.

for a sneak preview of the issue.
DVD Update: The DVD version of Video
Hits Volume 1 will be released on November 2 in the USA. The
"special bonus" not found on the VHS release is rumoured to be
the video for Without You.
Album Update: The band are still working
hard on the new album with producer Danny Kortchmar. Nothing new has
been leaked out of 5150 since our last update. Look for the new album
in early 2000, followed by a world tour.
The Return Of Ted
September 27, 1999 - David Lee Roth has just informed
The Inside that he is
very pleased to have Ted Templeman as the producer for his next CD.
Dave is keeping his current band and road crew for the next album and
tour, both out in early 2000. John Lowery will return as the main
songwriting collaborator, although Bart Walsh and Terry Kilgore may also
contribute to songwriting. Walsh and Kilgore are expected to handle
all guitar duties.
Twelve songs have been written so far. Working titles include
Stomping Grounds, Use My Hand, I Won't Look and
China Town. There will also be a surprise cover song
on the new album, which is yet to be titled.
The DLR Band will head back into the studio one week after the
current tour finishes (the last date is at the House of Blues
in Las Vegas on October 2.)
