DLR/VH Update
April 10, 2001 -
Well, it's April 2001 and we're still officially in the dark about what
the next move in the career of Van Halen will be. You've gotta hand it
to them. Who would have thought way back in November 1999 that we still
wouldn't know their plans almost 18 months down the track. 18 months!!
Creedence Clearwater Revival released their first four albums within
18 months!
Now that I've got that out of my system, here are the latest things to
check out in the world of Van Halen news...
Rumour: Doc Mcghee is rumoured to be Van Halen's new manager after
he finishes up with the Kiss Farewell tour.
David Lee Roth's Daily Catastrophe: The
fourth instalment
of David Lee Roth's "Daily Catastrophe" has just been published at
davidleeroth.com. You can view
the past episodes here:

3
4.
There's no doubting that Dave is a creative guy! While you're at Dave's
site, check out
Wazzup!
/ "The Bottom Line" for info on Dave in FHM Magazine and the new look
Backyard
(message forums). You can even sign up for your own slawterscouts.com
email address.
Vote: VH1's Rock Show
poll for this week is "What is your favorite band to come out of the L.A. scene?" Choices are
Van Halen and some other bands.

Celebrity Sludgematch: One of my favourite sites has always been
Metal Sludge. If you've never seen
the site before, do yourself a favour and check it out. They have started a new
competition called "Celebrity Sludgematch", where feuding rock stars can go head to
head in a web-based poll. Finally we'll get to see who comes out on top after all
those nasty rock star feuds that have been going on for all these years.
Of most interest to viewers of this site is the match between David Lee Roth
and Sammy Hagar. For two guys that have reportedly never met, they've thrown a lot
of mud at each other over the years. To cast your vote in the Dave vs Sammy
Sludgematch,

Anniversary: Tomorrow (April 11) is Edward Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli's
20th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to you both!

Dec 31, 2000 - 2000: The Year In Review
2000 has come and gone, and I don't have to tell you that it was probably
the most frustrating year ever in the life of Van Halen fans. "No news is
good news" got old real fast.
