Rumour: Hagar and Cherone To Tour Together
June 19, 2001 -
I've been informed that Tribe Of Judah, the new band featuring former Van Halen
vocalist Gary Cherone, will be supporting Sammy Hagar for eight shows! No
dates have been announced yet.
It won't be the first time that two former Van Halen vocalists have
been on the same bill. David Lee Roth and Gary Cherone shared the
same bill in 1991 when Roth toured with Extreme as support.
Roth and Hagar also played on the same bill on September 23, 1978
at Anaheim Stadium. This was the infamous gig where Van Halen
hired look-a-likes to parachute into the stadium. After they
landed, the band ran onto the stage wearing parachute gear.
Richie Lecea opened the show, followed by Sammy Hagar, Van Halen,
Black Sabbath and Boston.
Despite being adjacent on the same bill, both Hagar and Roth
have never met.

Dec 31, 2000 - 2000: The Year In Review
2000 has come and gone, and I don't have to tell you that it was probably
the most frustrating year ever in the life of Van Halen fans. "No news is
good news" got old real fast.
