Weekend Update
March 10, 2002 -
Don't forget to enter the Peavey Wolfgang Custom Shop competition
at van-halen.com. Every month they are giving away a custom guitar
to one lucky winner. You have to enter each month to be eligible
for that months prize. The guitar currently up for grabs is the
Skulls & Flames
design, valued at $3139.99.
Speaking of Peavey guitars, Eric in Whitman MA reports that the
Plexi Glass Wolfgang Special
featured in the new custom shop was played by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters
last week on the VH1 Late Night show. (** Update 3/11 ** Ian Anderson emailed
to say the guitar played by Grohl was actually a
Dan Armstrong
plexiglass guitar.)
The Peavey Wolfgang Special plexiglass guitar is also a favourite of
Eddie Van Halen's. It was apparently strapped to his hip non-stop for
a few weeks!
"Planet Us" Update From Michael Anthony
Michael posted the following update on his web site
last Friday...
Things are getting pretty exciting these days. I thought you'd like to hear a little bit about two of
the kick ass songs we've been working on, so strap in and check this out!
Vertigo has a slow, heavy groove and has Sammy's killer pipes all over it. Watch out for Neal Schon too,
'cuz this fucker be-a-shreddin'!
Peeping Through A Hole is a high energy song that will almost leave you pissed off by the time you're
done listening to it because it's so intense. I especially dig the killer drum work on this song,
compliments of my man Deen Castronovo.
We're currently bashing out some more tunes and I can't wait to open this baby up full throttle. Ow!
Stay tuned for more,
Michael
