Dave Suing Van Halen
December 14, 2002 -
It's hard to keep track of all the people suing or being sued by David Lee
Roth. The latest to be added to the list, and surely the biggest and most
startling of all, is VAN HALEN.
In a move that will surely nix any chance of an original Van Halen reunion,
Diamond Dave filed suit against his former bandmates, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and
Michael Anthony on Wednesday December 11 in the California Superior Court
for Los Angeles county.
Roth is claiming that the three signed a new royalty deal with
Warner Bros. in 1996 without his permission and without telling him.
He claims to be out of pocket by $200,000 to the end of 2001.
According to E! Online, Roth has demanded a full audit of all royalties
earned by Van Halen since he left the band in 1985.
Roth is also on the receiving end of lawsuits from his former webmasters [VHND Article],
his former manager [Pasadena Star article]
and his former guitar player [Launch article].
He's also being sued by a booking agent in Texas for allegedly reneging on paying fees
[KNAC article].
Earlier this year Roth dropped his lawsuit against the vanhalenstore.com
web site [VHND article].
